1. Three elements of curtain wall leakage

1)Pores, rain and wind pressure. Therefore, the gaps between the stone slabs embedded in the structure and the slab geometry, size and exposure, and the amount of rainwater. The size of the pressure difference inside and outside the curtain wall has a direct impact on the rainwater leakage function of the curtain wall

2)Curtain wall leak formation process

When wind pressure and rainwater act on the surface of the curtain wall at the same time, the rainwater splashes directly into the room through the gaps in the curtain wall or flows down the curtain wall. When the right conditions are reached, the rainwater can penetrate into the room by gravity, surface tension or capillary phenomenon.

2. Solution

1)Elimination of differential pressure opening method

The most ingenious method is to not set up sealing strips in the gaps and holes on the outside of the curtain wall. Move the sealing treatment to the opening on the indoor side, that is, move the pressure difference to the indoor opening that is not in contact with rainwater, so that there is no wind pressure where there is water, and there is no water where there is a pressure difference, so as to avoid rainwater seepage. possibility of leakage.

2)Seal balance treatment method

The openings on the inside of the openings should be sealed. This is done to prevent high-velocity air currents in the crevices that draw rainwater into the room. The height h of the inner flange of the beam steel where there is a possibility of water accumulation can be increased to improve the waterproof and leakage water quality.

Many experiments have proved that the inner flange height h is basically close to the critical detection wind pressure value. Therefore, increasing the height h of the inner flange of the beam is an effective way to improve the watertightness level.
