Before understanding why everyone started to choose Arabescato more, we must first understand what is Arabescato marble?

Native to Italy and quarried in the Carrara region, Arabescato is a rare and highly sought-after marble with an average available slab or tile.

What makes Arabescato marble so unique is its muted white background color, and the bold grey-grey texture that spans the slab, often giving the impression of jagged white islands floating on a dark grey lake. The combination of these two aesthetic factors is the main reason why this particular marble is one of the most popular choices for personalizing kitchen countertops, walls and floors, splashbacks and bathrooms.

Difference Between Arabescato and Carrara and Calacatta Marbles

The main difference between Arabescato and Calacatta is that the former has denser veins and fills most of the plate, whereas Calacatta has stronger veins, light grey, slightly larger, but has less pattern traffic through the plate.

An interesting thing about this particular variety of marble is that it is very compact and very strong, in fact, Arabescato slabs usually do not pose as many problems as Calacatta for this particular reason. Calacatta generally exhibits more natural imperfections such as natural cracks or tears (resined), while Arabescatta blocks are generally more intact.

However, keep in mind that this does not mean that Arabescato blocks and slabs are not resin treated, 95% of all blocks and slabs are treated with the same resin and net treatment as Calacatta to ensure the safety and structural integrity of the marble. During the block cutting process, often without knowing what might be wrong inside, buyers of cut blocks purchasing blocks for individual or bulk sale do not want to risk losing their investment, so resin treatment is considered insurance for this.

At the lower end of the price range, Carrara marble can be identified by its usually greyer background colour, with more subtle texture or no texture, while Arabescato is much whiter and shows up on slabs Mostly dark grey texture. Both are very compact.

Arabescato is a great choice if you are looking for marble with special textures and colors at an affordable price. It is considered a compromise between Carrara and Calacatta because not only is it highly sought after by customers with its strong white undertone and dark texture, but it also costs less than Calacatta; which means it is perfect in terms of quality and price choose.
