The Qatar Stadium, located about 15 kilometers north of downtown Doha, Qatar, officially started construction in 2015. The stadium has a construction area of 180,000 square meters and a spectator capacity of 92,000 (1,000 more seats than the "Bird's Nest"). Its "stylish, bold, grandiose shapes" are inspired by bowls and utensils used in the Middle East for centuries, the triangular mesh facade of the curtain wall showcases the traditional Qatari enamel lamp plaid pattern, and the stadium exterior is a gleaming gold , which highlights the Arab cultural characteristics of the Gulf region in the Middle East where Qatar is located, and the building is therefore named "The Great Golden Bowl".

The Lusail Stadium, the largest of all 8 structures, will be hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ final. The design is inspired by the interplay of light and shadow seen in the Fanar lantern. The structural form and façade echo the intricate motifs of art and furniture pieces found across the Arab and Islamic world during early civilizations. Due to its prominent locations in Lusail, a newly built metropolis, the master planning of the stadium features a tram system, and lush green spaces, turning it into a sustainability-focused arena that focuses on human needs and environmental conservation. Once the event is over, it will be transformed into a multi-purpose community hub with schools, shops, cafés, sporting facilities, and health clinics.
The project that Tingida Stone is responsible for is the laying of the floor outside the stadium, using 5cm thick white granite tiles of padang light granite with flamed and black granite tiles of absolute black granite with polished, which took six months to complete.
The benefits of using granite in construction
1. Good stability
Granite is formed under the condition of high temperature condensation. Because the minerals are embedded very firmly, the gap between the particles is relatively small, so the granite is relatively hard and the chemical properties are relatively stable, and it is precisely because the granite is relatively hard that it is not easy to deformation, maintaining high precision even under heavy loads.
2. Easy to process
Granite is relatively hard, and it is easy to obtain high surface roughness and precision in processes such as sawing, grinding, and cutting, but granite processing equipment is relatively simple and the processing cycle is short. The processing cost of the product is relatively low, and the wear-resistant and hard performance of granite is still more than 10 times that of ordinary cast iron. At present, the common granite on the market has various surfaces. For example, grinding, matt, fine grinding, burning, water jet treatment, sand blasting, etc., some stone materials cannot be processed with so many processing methods, so granite has a wide range of adaptability.
3. Easy to maintain
The corrosion resistance of granite is very good. It does not need to be coated with anti-rust grease. It is resistant to the erosion of general acid and alkali gases and solutions. There is no need to worry about the influence of rust or environmental humidity. That's it.
4. Good vibration absorption
Granite has shock-proof and shock-absorbing effects, and granite can maintain its own stability for a long time
