How to prevent quartz stone from breaking?

Quartz stone is a new type of stone made of more than 90% quartz sand powder as the main aggregate, and auxiliary materials such as resin and pigment as the main bonding material. After mixing, it is formed, cured and polished by vacuum pressure vibration.
Due to its high density and high hardness, quartzite has excellent scratch and stain resistance. Non-scratch, impermeable, stain-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature resistant, green and environmentally friendly, and can be in direct contact with food.
However, from a physical point of view, quartzite has slight thermal expansion and cold contraction, and has certain mechanical properties such as shrinkage stress, impact toughness, and elongation at break. Cracking occurs when the material cannot withstand the internal stress caused by thermal expansion and contraction and is subjected to severe external impact.

Quartz cracking and its causes
1. Cracks in the central part of the countertop, etc.: high temperature, external impact, uneven cabinet or backplane, internal damage to the board, etc.
2. Cracks at the corners: too tight against the wall, no shrinkage joints, uneven or uneven padding between the two cabinets, cracks due to external force impact or uneven shrinkage of the countertops
3. Cracks around the countertop basin: There is no gap between the countertop basin and the basin hole, the basin hole is not polished and smooth, and it is cracked due to external impact or temperature change.
4. Cracks around the furnace hole: There is no gap between the gas stove and the furnace hole, the furnace hole is not polished smoothly, and the surface is unevenly cracked due to external force impact or temperature changes, cracking.
5. Cracks in the rear water block: the box is not flat or the backing plate is not flat.
6. Cracks at the connection of the backstop table: the glue is not firmly bonded.
7. Cracks at the joints of the countertops: When the installers join the joints, the joints are uneven, the glue is unevenly applied, or the curing agent is added to the glue or too much agent is added to make the joints more brittle and cracked due to slight impact during use.

Precautions to prevent quartz stone from breaking
1. When designing plane splicing, the physical properties of quartz should be considered to avoid the consequences of joint cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction or stress concentration. When choosing the connection location, the stress of the plate must be fully considered. Avoid connecting in corners or at the mouth of the oven.
2. When designing the table corner, stress concentration should be fully considered, which will cause the table corner to crack. Therefore, all corners should be kept within a radius of 25mm or more during machining.
3. When designing the opening position, the opening position should be greater than or equal to 80mm from the edge of the table to prevent the hole from cracking. The corners of the opening should be kept to a radius of 25mm or more.
4. When installing the countertop, there should be an expansion gap of 2-4mm between the countertop and the wall to effectively ensure that the countertop will not crack due to thermal expansion and contraction. The maximum distance between the table top and the support frame or support plate should not exceed 600 mm to reduce the deformation or even damage of the table top.
5. In the process of daily use, it is necessary to avoid cracking caused by external factors, such as: do not hit the quartz stone countertop with gravity, do not directly contact the pots with extremely high temperature, etc., you can put a thermal insulation layer.
